
I
was born and raised in Loughborough Leicestershire, England to a typical working
class family during English soccer's finest years, 1950 - 1970 [world cup
champions - 1966]. I played as a defending midfielder on a championship
schoolboys' team and played soccer all of my waking hours at the local Soccer
Park. Following in my father's footsteps, I joined one of the local amateur
adult teams as a goalkeeper and spent the next twelve years playing with
various teams; the last five years with a championship team winning league and
cup honors in my final season in England.
After arriving in Huntsville, Alabama in 1972 to
start a new chapter in my life, I found out that there was not a single soccer
ball to be found! So since the mid '70s, I have been involved in soccer in
Alabama. Some of my acheivements are below:
